COMPARATIVE STUDY OF FUNDS FOR VICTIMS OF INTERNATIONAL CRIMES

  • Individual Grant: Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Knowledge Development Competition
  • Role: Principal Researcher

This project aims to publish two scientific articles and a research report to be submitted to the International Criminal Court (Victims Trust Fund) and the Department of Justice Canada (War Crimes Department). The research interns will create a series of podcasts on reparations to be published on my research website. Recruitment and training of 2 master's students and 1 doctoral student.

 

THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION'S NORMATIVE ACTION IN DOMESTIC LAW

  • Grants:
    • SSHRC Knowledge Competition

  • Role: Co-investigator in charge of the international law component; principal investigator: Catherine Régis; co-investigators: Jean-Louis Denis, Pierre Larouche

This project aims to understand the impact of the WHO's normative action in domestic law (comparative study of seven countries) and the production of scientific articles on the different research questions (2020-2023).

 

CENTRE DE RECHERCHE EN DROIT PUBLIC (CRDP) OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MONTREAL AS A STRATEGIC GROUPING

  • Grant: Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et la culture (2020-2027)
  • Role: CRDP regular researcher (since 2019).

 

HUMAN RIGHTS COMPARATIVE

  • Individual Grant: Canadian Bar Association, Law for the Future Fund
  • Role: Principal Investigator

Comparative human rights study for the general public and creation of a database of landmark human rights decisions in Canada. Wrote an article on the different types of remedies for human rights violations in Canada. Recruitment and training of 7 law students and 1 IT student (2017-2021).

 

HUMAN RIGHTS COLLECTIVE

  • Grant: Small Universities Fund (Lakehead University), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada
  • Role: Principal Investigator

Formation of a research collective on human rights issues in northern Canada. Recruited and trained 8 law students (2017-2018).

 

OXFORD INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS - OXIO

  • Research contract with Oxford University Press
  • Role: Researcher and author

Research and publication of peer-reviewed specialist commentaries on the law of international organisations (2015 to date).

 

MINORITY LAW IN THE FACE OF NATIONAL SECURITY MEASURES

  • Individual Research Contract: F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at George Mason University
  • Role: Associate researcher, legal expert

Study and publication to be published (2020) in a refereed journal Revista Brasileira do Instituto de Direitos Humanos.

REPARATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL CRIMES: THE STATE OF THE LAW

FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC

  • Role: Principal Investigator

Strategic and interdisciplinary cluster on issues of fundamental rights protection in times of pandemic. The project aims to ensure human rights and freedoms by creating publicly accessible virtual resources and legal articles. Application for funding submitted to the University of Montreal's research funding campaign in May 2020.
